Lake Forest Defeated by UW-Whitewater in Regular Season Finale
Foresters will take on Beloit College in MWC Tournament semifinal

LAKE FOREST, IL - The Lake Forest College men's soccer team was defeated 4-2 by visiting UW-Whitewater in the Foresters' final game of the 2003 regular season. The team heads into next weekend's Midwest Conference Tournament at St. Norbert College with a 10-4-2 overall record. Whitewater is now 11-5-1 on the season.

The Warhawks scored twice in the first period and had recorded two more goals in the first half of the second before the Foresters got on the scoreboard on freshman Michael Watman's (Flossmoor, IL/Mount Carmel) first career goal. Lake Forest scored the final goal of the game at the 86:04 mark on the second of the year by junior Alex Stavropolous (Vernon Hills, IL/Stevenson).

UW-Whitewater out-shot the Foresters 13-8 in the game.

Lake Forest will take on Beloit College in the semifinals of the MWC Tournament at 1:30 Friday (November 7) afternoon. The winner will play in the tournament final at noon on Saturday (November 8) against the winner of the other semifinal between St. Norbert College and Lawrence University. Saturday's winner will receive the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Division III National Championship Tournament.
