Schmidt Named First Team All-MWC, Stavropoulos and Palutsis Second Team
Trio accounted for 15 goals and eight assists on the year

LAKE FOREST, Ill. – The 2007 All-Midwest Conference men’s soccer teams were released Wednesday (November 14) and three Lake Forest College players made the list.

Senior midfielder Attila Schmidt (Akron, Ohio/Western Reserve) was named First Team All-MWC for the second time in three years. He was a second team selection last season. Schmidt recorded a dozen points on the year on four goals and as many assists. Seven of his 12 points came during conference play. Schmidt finished his career tied for 15th in team history with 58 points and ninth with 18 assists.

Junior forward Steve Stavropoulos (Vernon Hills, Ill./Stevenson) earned Second Team All-MWC honors after leading the squad with 16 points on two assists and a team-high seven goals. Half of those points were recorded during conference games.

Junior midfielder Rob Palutsis (Lake Bluff, Ill./Lake Forest) also earned second team honors after recording 10 points on four goals and a pair of assists. He moved from defense to midfield during the season. Each of his goals were scored during MWC matches.

The Foresters finished the season with an overall record of 5-11 and a conference mark of 3-6. The team finished seventh in the league standings.
