Four Foresters Earn All-Midwest Conference Recognition
Schmidt and Enck named to first team, Elperin and Lange to second

LAKE FOREST, IL – The Midwest Conference released it 2005 All-MWC Men’s Soccer Teams on Tuesday (November 15) and four Lake Forest players made the list.

Sophomores Attila Schmidt (Akron, OH/Western Reserve Academy) and Josh Enck (Antioch, IL/Antioch) were two of the league’s 13 First Team All-MWC selections. Schmidt, a midfielder, started every game and led Lake Forest with seven goals, nine assists, and 23 points on the year. He recorded at least one point in 10 of the first 13 games of the season and four of his goals were game winners. Enck was one of the top defensive players in the conference. He started 13 of his 14 games played and scored a goal in the conference tournament semifinals. Forester opponents averaged just 1.14 goals per game when he played.

Sophomore goalkeeper Jacob Elperin (Highland Park, IL/Lake Forest Academy) and junior defender Jordan Lange (Wheaton, IL/Wheaton North) were named to the second team. Elperin posted a 10-4-0 record on the year with five shutouts and a 0.80 goals against average. He also saw some action at forward this year and scored one goal. Lange also scored once on the season, the game winning goal against Knox College on September 10, and started all 15 of the games in which he played. He helped limit opponents to just 17 goals in those contests.

It marked the sixth consecutive season and the 11th in Head Coach Ed Kositzki’s 12 years that Lake Forest had at least four players earn all-conference honors. Fifty-two Foresters have been named All-MWC in that span, including 30 first team selections.
