SPURLIN, MUNSON NAMED ALL-MIDWEST CONFERENCE
Junior defensemen Matt Spurlin (Littleton, CO/Bear Creek H.S.) and Mike Munson (Williston, VT/Champlain Valley Union H.S.) have been named All-Midwest Conference. Spurlin is a first team pick, while Munson was selected to the second unit.
Spurlin, a co-captain this season, collected 4 goals on the season, including 3 goals in MWC play, and 8 total points. He tied for team lead in goals scored this year. Spurlin was a second team All-Conference selection in 1998.
Munson contributed 2 goals and 1 assist for 5 points this year. He had 1 goal and 1 assist versus MWC teams.
Both Spurlin and Munson contributed to a Forester defense that surrendered just over two goals per game (2.13) on the season and just 11 goals in 9 conference games (1.22 goals/game). The team had two shutouts this year versus MWC teams.
The Foresters finished the 1999 season with a 6-10-0 overall record. They were 4-5-0 in the MWC and tied for fourth place in the league, which qualified the team for the four-team MWC Championship Tournament, where they fell to Beloit, 2-1, in the semifinals.
