Palutsis Named First Team All-MWC, Stavropoulos and Pontillo Second Team
Foresters have at least three honorees for the 24th time in 26 years

LAKE FOREST, Ill. – The 2008 All-Midwest Conference men’s soccer teams were released Wednesday (November 19) and three Lake Forest College players made the list.

Senior defenderRob Palutsis (Lake Bluff, Ill./Lake Forest) was named First Team All-MWC after earning Second Team honors a year ago. Palutsis started each of the team's 18 games and had two assists on the season. The Foresters' captain helped anchor a defense that recorded three shutouts and limited six other opponents to a single goal. Lake Forest surrendered just 1.67 goals per contest.

Senior midfielder Steve Stavropoulos (Vernon Hills, Ill./Stevenson) earned Second Team All-MWC honors for the second year in a row. He tied for second on the squad with eight points on three goals and two assists. He finished his career with 42 points on 17 goals and eight assists.

Freshman goalkeeper Trevor Pontillo (Winthrop Harbor, Ill./Zion Benton) was also a Second Team All-MWC selection. Pontillo made a team-high 47 saves during the season and was named the league's Defensive Performer of the Week on October 27. He is the program's first freshman all-conference player since 2000.

The Foresters finished the season with an overall record of 4-13-1 and a conference mark of 3-5-1. The team finished sixth in the league standings.
