GRINNELL, IA - The Lake Forest College men's soccer team climbed back to the .500 mark Saturday (October 12) with a 3-0 victory at Grinnell College. The win gives the Foresters a 5-5-0 overall record and a 3-2-0 mark in the Midwest Conference.

Freshman forward Sam Figueroa (Bartlett, IL/Bartlett) scored the first goal of the game, his third of the season, in the ninth minute. Junior forward Caleb Chase (Hanover, NH/Vermont Academy) recorded the assist.

The Foresters struck again late in the 17th minute when junior midfielder Steve Teisl (Chardon, OH/Gilmour Academy) found the back of the net on an unassisted goal, his second score of the year.

In the 25th minute, Chase put the game out of reach with his sixth goal of 2002 off an assist from Teisl.

Neither team was able to score the rest of the game. Sophomore goalkeeper Eric Booth (Buffalo Grove, IL/Stevenson) tallied five saves to notch his second straight MWC shutout.

Lake Forest will be back out on the soccer field in less than 24 hours. The team will host Beloit College on Sunday (October 13) at 3:00 p.m. in another MWC match. The team will then be off until next Saturday (October 19) when it hosts Monmouth College.
