Beloit Ends Foresters' Streak at Four
Teisl scores for second straight game

Steve Teisl scored his second goal in as many days.
LAKE FOREST, IL - The Forester men's soccer team's four-game winning streak came to an end Sunday (October 13) against Beloit. The 2-1 loss at home to the Buccaneers drops Lake Forest's overall record to 5-6-0 and its Midwest Conference mark to 3-3-0. Beloit is now 7-2-1 overall and 4-1-1 in the league.

The Foresters got on the scoreboard first on Sunday in the game's 35th minute. Junior midfielder Steve Teisl (Chardon, OH/Gilmour Academy) scored his second goal in as many days and third this year off an assist from junior midfielder Matt Deimler (Wadsworth, IL/Warren Township).

Early in the second half, however, Beloit evened the score on Mark Eckman's first goal of the day and took the lead on his second with just less than 28 minutes to play in regulation.

Despite a few golden opportunities for each team to score during the latter part of the second half, neither could and Beloit hung on for the 2-1 victory.

The Foresters will need a win in their next match on Saturday (October 19) to stay alive in the MWC standings. Only the top four teams in the league will advance to the MWC Tournament and Lake Forest is currently tied for fifth place. Saturday's opponent will be Monmouth College and it will be Parents' Day. The team will defend Wasylik Field again on Sunday (October 20) at 1:00 p.m. against Illinois College.
