LAKE FOREST - The Lake Forest College men's soccer team ended a three-game losing streak on Thursday (October 18th) with a 2-1 win at home over St. Norbert College. The victory means the Foresters still have just two losses on their Midwest Conference record, the least in the league but only one less than four other teams. The top team at the end of the regular season will be crowned MWC Champion.

In the victory over St. Norbert, freshman midfielder Victor Pacheco (Highland Park, IL/Highland Park) started off the scoring with his second goal of the season at the 25:48 mark. Senior forward Chris Mickschl (Glendale, WI/Nicolet) notched his third assist of 2001 on Pacheco's goal, tying him for the team lead in that category.

The other Forester goal came just 30 seconds before the end of the first half when sophomore midfielder Steve Teisl (Chardon, OH/Gilmour Academy) kicked in his fifth goal of the year.

St. Norbert made it interesting near the end when they finally forced the ball past junior goalkeeper Ed Elliott (Decatur, IL/Culver Military Academy-IN) with 1:38 to go in the game. Elliott tallied six saves in the win.

Lake Forest takes their 7-5-0 overall record and 5-2-0 MWC mark into the weekend (October 20-21st) when they will host Lawrence University on Saturday at 3:00 pm and play at Ripon College on Sunday at 12:00 noon.
