Foresters Defeated by Visiting Carthage in Last Non-Conference Game of 2008

LAKE FOREST, Ill. – The Lake Forest College men's soccer team fell 1-0 to visiting Carthage College on Sunday (October 19). The loss dropped the Foresters' overall record to 3-11-0 while raising the Red Men's mark to 7-5-3.

After a scoreless first half, Carthage scored the only goal of the contest six minutes and 16 seconds after intermission.

Forester senior goalkeeper Sam Malmberg (Concord, N.H./St. Paul's School) recorded six saves in the game.

Lake Forest will play its final four games of the regular season against Midwest Conference opponents. The Foresters will begin the stretch with a 1:30 p.m. contest at Grinnell College on Saturday (October 25) and continue with a home game against Beloit College the following afternoon at 3:30.
