Jacob Elperin Named MWC Defensive Performer of the Week
Sophomore goalie recorded double-overtime shutout at Carroll

Carroll became Jacob Elperin's fifth shuout victim of the season.
LAKE FOREST, IL - Lake Forest College men’s soccer player Jacob Elperin (Highland Park, IL/Lake Forest Academy) was named Midwest Conference Defensive Performer of the Week on Monday (October 24). The Foresters recorded a 1-0 double-overtime victory at Carroll College the previous Tuesday (October 18) night to secure a spot in the four-team MWC Tournament.

Elperin, a sophomore goalkeeper, recorded four saves in the team’s eighth consecutive victory. Five of those wins came against league opponents as the Foresters rallied to finish the season with a conference record of 6-3-0.

Elperin, who also earned MWC Defensive Performer of the Week honors on October 10, in now 10-2-0 on the year with a save percentage of .885 and a 0.56 goals against average. He has five complete-game shutouts to his credit and has been scored upon just once in his last 562 minutes in goal.
