RICHARDSON NAMED MWC DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Lake Forest College senior goal keeper Michael
Richardson from W. Simbury, CT (Forest Hills Central High School) has
been named the Midwest
Conference's Defensive Player of the Week for men's soccer. Richardson
had 11 saves and posted a 5-0 shutout against Lawrence on Saturday (Oct.
23) to help the Foresters clinch the final playoff spot in the MWC Championship
Tournament. The win was Lake Forest's fourth straight in conference play
and third shutout of the season, all coming against MWC teams. Richardson
lowered his goals against average in league play to 0.86 with the win.
Lake Forest is 6-8-0 overall and 4-5-0 in
conference. They will face the winner of the Beloit at Ripon game (Oct.
30) in the first round of the league's playoffs, slated to begin November
6th. Lake Forest has won 13 of the last 25 league titles. |
