MONMOUTH, IL - A day after suffering its first Midwest Conference loss of the season by the score of 2-1 in overtime at Illinois College, the Lake Forest College men's soccer team had the same thing happen to them again on Sunday (October 7th) at Monmouth College. The Foresters fall to 6-4-0 on the season and 4-2-0 in the MWC.

Monmouth did not need long to get its first goal of the game as they scored after just 36 seconds of play. The rest of the half, however, neither team could get a shot past the goalkeepers and the first period ended with Monmouth ahead 1-0.

Sophomore midfielder Evan Klaus (Belvedere, CA/Brooks School) finally got the Foresters on the board with his second goal of the season in the game's 55th minute.

Junior goalkeeper Ed Elliott (Decatur, IL/Culver Military Academy-IN) tallied 10 saves as he held the Fighting Scots scoreless for over 100 minutes until they scored the game winner at the 10:45 mark of overtime.

Lake Forest's next game will be a non-conference tilt at home against UW-Whitewater on Saturday (October 13th). They will play another non-league match the following Tuesday (October 16th) at North Park University.
