Lake Forest Routs Concordia University Chicago 5-1
Andrew Glass and Robbie Weis each finish with five points

LAKE FOREST, Ill. – The Forester men's soccer team hosted and defeated Concordia University Chicago 5-1 on Wednesday (September 10).Lake Forest raised its overall record on the season to 2-3-0 while the Cougars remained winless after their fifth match of the year.

Forester freshman Andrew Glass (Colorado Springs, Colo./Cheyenne Mountain) assisted classmate Robbie Weis (Deerfield, Ill./Deerfield) on the game's first goal at the 19:30 mark. Glass then scored for the first time this season just 81 seconds later off an assist from senior Steve Stavropoulos (Vernon Hills, Ill./Stevenson).

Concordia pulled to within a goal at 63:54 but the home team responded at 67:28 when Weis assisted senior Erik Bene's (Lake Bluff, Ill./Lake Forest) first goal of the year. Glass scored for the second time in the game at 69:10 and Weis matched that feat with his team-high fourth goal of the season with 5:47 to play in the contest. Senior Rob Palutsis (Lake Bluff, Ill./Lake Forest) assisted on each of the final two goals of the game.

Forester senior goalkeeper Sam Malmberg (Concord, N.H./St. Paul's School) recorded four saves to earn the victory and raise his record on the year to 2-2-0. He was relieved after the team's fourth goal by freshman Trevor Pontillo (Winthrop Harbor, Ill./Zion Benton), who held the Cougars scoreless for final 22 minutes and 32 seconds of the contest.

Lake Forest will resume Midwest Conference play on Saturday (September 13) when the team hosts Ripon College at 3:30 p.m. A live video webcast of the game will be available at www.midwestconference.tv.
