LATE LET-DOWNS DOOM MEN'S SOCCER SQUAD
The Forester men's soccer team lost their season-opener to UW-Whitewater 1-3 on Thursday and then fell on the road to MWC opponent Ripon College on Saturday, 0-3. In the two games combined, Lake Forest was outscored 5-1 in the second half, including 4-0 in the final 10 minutes.
The Foresters played three goalkeepers - Michael Richardson (Grand Rapids, MI), Adam Nawrocki (Bayside, WI), and Ed Elliot (Decatur, IL) -- who combined for 11 saves in the two games. But the biggest bright spot for Lake Forest was a goal by senior Ryan Lampe (Renta, WA) (assisted by Troy Abeln (Bloomington, MN)) in the 50th minute versus Whitewater. Lampe was a 1997 All-Conference performer.
The Foresters will look to get back on track this weekend when they host Knox College at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 18th and St. Norbert College at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 19th.
