Lake Forest Opens MWC Play with 2-1 Triumph at Ripon
Moore and Deimler score for the Foresters

LISLE, IL - The Lake Forest College men's soccer team began the Midwest Conference portion of its schedule Saturday (September 13) with a 2-1 victory at Ripon College. The Foresters are now 4-0-0 on the season and have allowed exactly one goal in each of their games.

Lake Forest scored the first half's only goal when junior midfielder Andy Moore (Geneseo, IL/J.D. Darnall) connected for his first goal of the season.

Senior midfielder Matt Deimler's (Wadsworth, IL/Warren Township) fourth goal of the year gave the Foresters a 2-0 advantage early in the second half. Deimler is now tied for the team lead in goals.

Ripon pulled to within a single goal midway through the second period but was unable to tie the score against the Forester defense. Junior goalkeeper Eric Booth (Buffalo Grove, IL/Stevenson) raised his own record on the season to 4-0-0. 

Lake Forest will travel to Carthage College on Tuesday (September 16) for an 8:00 p.m. game under the lights. The team will continue MWC play on Saturday (September 20) when it hosts defending league champion St. Norbert College at 3:30 p.m.
