LAKE FOREST, Ill. – The Lake Forest College men's soccer team evened its overall record at 3-3-0 and raised its Midwest Conference mark to 2-0-0 with a 2-0 triumph over visiting Ripon College on Saturday (September 13). The Red Hawks fell to 2-4-0 overall in their first league game of the year.

Forester freshman John Fagan (Okemos, Mich./Trinity Pawling School) opened the scoring at the 10:20 mark. His first career goal was assisted by senior Andi Keca (Bloomingdale, Ill./Addison Trail).

Fagan also put the game out of reach with another goal with just 7:52 to play in the contest. The clincher was assisted by freshman Stephen Egan (York Harbor, Maine/Berwick Academy).

A pair of Lake Forest goalkeepers split the shutout effort. Senior Sam Malmberg (Concord, N.H./St. Paul's School) started and recorded four saves in the first half to earn the win. Sophomore Tom Biesiada (Grayslake, Ill./Grayslake Central) played the entire second half and a save of a potential game-tying penalty shot with less than 13 minutes remaining was one of his four stops in the period.

The Foresters will be in action again next Saturday (September 20) at St. Norbert College. The game is scheduled to begin at 4:00 p.m.
