Foresters Blank Knox 3-0 to Even Conference Record
Goal and assist each for Steve Stavropoulos and Jovani Villasenor

LAKE FOREST, Ill. - The Lake Forest College men’s soccer team defeated Knox College 3-0 at home Saturday (September 15) afternoon. The Foresters raised their overall record on the year to 3-2-0 and their Midwest Conference mark to 1-1-0. Knox fell to 2-4-0 overall and 0-1-0 in the league.

The only goal of the first half was scored by Lake Forest junior Jovani Villasenor (Highwood, Ill./Highland Park) in the 28th minute. His first of the season was assisted by classmate Steve Stavropoulos (Vernon Hills, Ill./Stevenson).

Stavropoulos kicked in his team-high fifth goal of the season at 57:37 to give the Foresters a two-goal advantage. Just 78 seconds later senior Josh Enck (Antioch, Ill./Antioch) scored for the first time this year off assists from Villasenor and sophomore David Jo (Seoul, Korea/Stevenson).

Junior Sam Malmberg (Concord, N.H./St. Paul's School) held the Prairie Fire scoreless for the first 85:30 of the contest, recording six saves during that time. He is now 3-2-0 on the year with a 1.62 goals against average.

Lake Forest will play under the lights at Milwaukee School of Engineering Tuesday (September 18) night at 7:00. The team will then resume conference play next Sunday (September 23) at home against St. Norbert College at 3:30 p.m.
