Freshman Teisl Scores A Goal For The Second Straight Game

GALESBURG, IL - After starting the season 0-2-0, the Lake Forest men's soccer team has bounced back with two straight one-goal wins, the latest coming 2-1 at Knox on Sunday (September 17th).

Freshman Steve Teisl, who scored the game's only goal at St. Norbert the previous day, scored the Forester's first goal on Sunday to tie the score at 1-1 in the 46th minute. Knox's Alan Okamoto scored in the game's 19th minute to give the Prairie Fire the early lead.

Chris Mickschl's first goal of the season gave Lake Forest the win. Mickschl's chip came with under two minutes remaining in the game. It was the second straight game that a Lake Forest player's first goal of the season was a game-winning goal.

Lake Forest goalkeeper Ed Elliott recorded two saves to get the win. He is now 2-1-0 on the season.

The Foresters, now 2-1-0 in the Midwest Conference, will return to the field on Tuesday (September 19th) when they host MWC foe Carroll College (WI) at 4:30.
