Steve Teisl and Ed Elliott Named MWC Players of the Week
Teisl on Offense and Elliott for Defense

LAKE FOREST, IL - Steve Teisl (Chardon, OH) and Ed Elliott (Decatur, IL/Culver Military Academy (IN)), both from Lake Forest College, have been named the Midwest Conference Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively, for the week of September 11-17.

The pair led Lake Forest to back-to-back MWC road wins over the weekend. The Foresters shutout St. Norbert, 1-0, on Saturday (September 16th) and won, 2-1, at Knox the following day. The two wins helped LF bounce back from an 0-2-0 start to the season and improved their MWC record to 2-1-0.

Teisl, a freshman midfielder, picked an opportune time to score his first career goal. In the 10th minute of Satuday's win at St.Norbert, Teisl found the back of the net with a goal that proved to be the game's only score as Lake Forest held on for a 1-0 win. The following afternoon at Knox, Teisl scored in the 46th minute to tie the contest at 1-1. The Foresters went on to defeat Knox, 2-1.

Elliott, a sophomore goalkeeper, allowed just one goal in two full games for the week. He shut-out St. Norbert, 1-0, on Saturday and allowed just one goal in a 2-1 win at Knox on Sunday. In the Knox win, he stopped a penalty kick. Elliott recorded seven saves versus St. Norbert and two saves versus Knox. His impressive week improved his goals against average to 1.43 for the season.

The Midwest Conference Players of the Week are selected by the league's Sports Information Directors.
