Attila Schmidt Named Forester Athlete of the Week
Junior recorded four goals and an assists in two games

Lake Forest, Ill. – Lake Forest College men’s soccer player Attila Schmidt (Akron, Ohio/Western Reserve) was named Forester Athlete of the Week on Thursday (September 21) for his performance in a pair of lopsided Forester victories in the last seven days.

Schmidt, a junior midfielder, started the week by scoring twice in the squad’s 6-0 Midwest Conference victory at Knox College on Saturday (September 16).

In Wednesday’s (September 20) 7-1 rout of Concordia University Chicago, Schmidt assisted on the first goal of the game and scored two more of his own, including the game winner, his third of the season.

He leads the Foresters with six goals and 16 points and is tied for the team lead with four assists.

The Forester Athlete of the Week is selected by the Athletic Department on Thursdays. He was also named MWC Offensive Performer of the Week on Monday.
