Lake Forest Falls to North Central on Goal in 80th Minute
Forester goalkeepers record 13 saves

LAKE FOREST, Ill. – The Forester men's soccer team was defeated 1-0 by visiting North Central College on Tuesday (September 2). Lake Forest fell to 0-3-0 on the season while the Cardinals raised their record to 3-0-0.

While both teams had several opportunities to score, niether one did until the visitors took advantage of a misplayed ball with just 10:27 remaining in regulation.

Forester senior goalkeeper Sam Malmberg (Concord, N.H./St. Paul's School) played the opening period and registered seven saves. Freshman Trevor Pontillo (Winthrop Harbor, Ill./Zion Benton) took over at halftime and added six stops in 45 minutes of work.

Lake Forest will begin Midwest Conference play on Saturday (September 6) at Knox College. The game will begin at 3:30 p.m.
