KENOSHA, WI - In their first game of the 2001 season on artificial grass, the Lake Forest College men's soccer team defeated Carthage College 1-0 to extend its season-opening winning streak to four games.

Earning his first shutout of the season was junior goalkeeper Ed Elliott (Decatur, IL/Culver Military Academy-IN), who stopped all four shots on goal the Redmen could muster.

On the offensive end, senior forward Chris Mickschl (Glendale, WI/Nicolet) scored the game's only goal midway through the first period. Mickschl now has five goals and two assists so far this season in just four games.

Lake Forest will put its 4-0-0 record on the line tomorrow (September 23rd) afternoon at Aurora University at 2:30 pm. The Foresters will also play at Benedictine University on Wednesday (September 26th) and their next Midwest Conference match will be next Saturday when they host Grinnell College.
