Lake Forest Ties the Game Late, Then Falls to Visiting Benedictine

LAKE FOREST, Ill. – The Forester men's soccer team suffered a 2-1 loss at home to Benedictine University on Wednesday (September 24) and fell to 3-5-0 on the season. The Eagles raised their overall record to 2-5

After a scoreless first half, Benedictine got on the scoreboard in the game's 60th minute.

The Foresters pulled even with just 5:17 remaining in regulation on the first goal of the season for senior Steve Stavropoulos (Vernon Hills, Ill./Stevenson).

The Eagles regained the advantage just 65 seconds later and held on for the victory.

Lake Forest will resume Midwest Conference play on Saturday (September 27) at Lawrence University. The Foresters and Vikings will face off at 3:30 p.m. Lake Forest will then travel to the University of Chicago the next day for a 4:30 p.m. contest.
