Tom Biesiada Named Forester Athlete of the Week
Junior has not allowed a goal in nearly 400 minutes

LAKE FOREST, Ill. – Lake Forest College men’s soccer player Tom Biesiada (Grayslake, Ill./Grayslake Central) was named Forester Athlete of the Week on Thursday (September 24) for his performance in three shutouts during the previous seven days.

Biesiada, a junior goalkeeper, made a season-high nine saves on Saturday (September 19) as the host Foresters blanked previously unbeaten St. Norbert College 1-0. The Green Knights entered the game ranked 21st in the country by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.

Lake Forest followed that up with a 5-0 rout of visiting Wisconsin Lutheran College on Tuesday (September 22). Biesiada recorded three saves and earned the victory. He was replaced after 75 minutes of play by the team’s other goalie.

Finally, in a 1-0 double-overtime victory at Benedictine University Wednesday night (September 23), Biesiada recorded one save and the Foresters’ school record-tying fourth
consecutive shutout.

Biesiada is now 4-0-0 on the season with a 0.22 goals against average and .938 save percentage. He has not allowed a goal in his last 392-plus minutes on the field.

Forester Athletes of the Week are selected by the Athletic Department on Thursdays.
