Foresters Even League Record at 2-2-0 With 1-0 Win Over Carroll
Booth records first career shutout

Eric Booth recorded his first shutout as a Forester.
LAKE FOREST, IL - The Lake Forest College men's soccer team earned an important victory Wednesday (September 25) at home over Carroll College. The 1-0 triumph evened the Foresters' Midwest Conference record at 2-2-0 and raised their overall mark to 2-5-0. Lake Forest and Carroll were ranked first and second, respectively, in the conference's preseason coaches poll.

Sophomore goalkeeper Eric Booth (Buffalo Grove, IL/Stevenson) earned his first career shutout. He stopped four shots on goal and made a number of outstanding plays to prevent potential Carroll scoring opportunities.

After a scoreless first half, the Foresters finally got on the scoreboard with a Caleb Chase (Hanover, NH/Vermont Academy) goal at the 67:49 mark. Chase, a junior forward, leads the team with three goals and six points on the year. Sophomore midfielder Andy Moore's (Geneseo, IL/J.D. Darnall) earned the assist with a beautiful pass to set up Chase. It was the first point of Moore's career.

Lake Forest's next game will be Saturday (September 28) afternoon when the team hosts Carthage College at 2:00 p.m. The Foresters will be at home again next Saturday (October 5) when they take on Benedictine University at 2:00 p.m.
