Foresters Fall by One Twice over the Weekend
Team drops games at Lawrence and Chicago

CHICAGO, Ill. – The Lake Forest College men's soccer team was defeated 2-1 at Lawrence University on Saturday (September 27) and 1-0 at the University of Chicago on Sunday (September 28). The Foresters fell to 3-7-0 overall and the loss on Saturday evened their Midwest Conference mark at 2-2-0. Lawrence is 3-6-0 overall and 3-0-0 in the league. Chicago raised its overall record to 4-3-1.

After a scoreless first half at Lawrence, Lake Forest got on the scoreboard first on sophomore Kahiye Hassan's (Portland, Maine/Waynflete School) first career goal at 58:15.

The Forester lead lasted a little more than 14 minutes until the Vikings tied the game at 72:32. The home team then netted the game winner with 6:36 remaining in regulation.

The only goal of Sunday's game also occurred late in the contest. Chicago converted a scoring opportunity at 71:24 and held on for the victory.

Forester freshman Trevor Pontillo (Winthrop Harbor, Ill./Zion Benton) recorded a season-high seven saves in the game.

Lake Forest will host Carroll College Wednesday afternoon (October 1) at 4:30.
