LAKE FOREST, IL - After two straight losses to non-Midwest Conference teams, the Lake Forest College men's soccer team got back to its winning ways on Saturday (September 29th) against MWC foe Grinnell College. The Foresters are now 5-2-0 overall this season and 3-0-0 in league games.

Freshman forward Brock Thom (Manotick, Canada/Brewster Academy) notched his first career goal and freshman midfielder Victor Pacheco (Highland Park, IL/Highland Park) recorded his first career assist when the pair teamed in the 36th minute for the game's first score. At halftime, the score was still 1-0 in favor of the Foresters.

Thom scored again in the 35th minute off a pass from sophomore defender Caleb Chase (Hanover, NH/Vermont Academy), who kicked in his second goal of the year in the 66th minute. Pacheco found Thom for his third goal of the contest with slightly over two minutes to play in the game.

Junior goalkeeper Ed Elliott (Decatur, IL/Culver Military Academy-IN) recorded his second shutout of the season by saving all six shots the Pioneers put on goal. Elliott and the Foresters have allowed just nine goals in seven games.

Lake Forest will take their undefeated league record to Beloit College tomorrow (September 30th) for a 3:00 match. After five days without a game the team will travel to Illinois College and Monmouth College next Friday and Saturday (October 6-7th).
