BELOIT, WI - The Forester men's soccer team's fifth game in nine days took a little longer than planned, but they still came away with a 1-0 overtime victory Sunday (September 30th) at Beloit College. The Midwest Conference win was the second of the weekend and raised their overall record to 6-2-0 and their MWC mark to 4-0-0.

The teams combined for 34 shots (19 on goal) without finding the back of the net before the game's only goal was eventually scored by sophomore midfielder Evan Klaus (Belvedere, CA/Brooks School) in the 98th minute. The unassisted goal was his first score of 2001.

Junior goalkeeper Ed Elliott (Decatur, IL/Culver Military Academy-IN) recorded his second shutout of the weekend and third of the season. He faced 23 Beloit shots, 12 of which were on goal to lower his goals against average to a paltry 1.10.

The Foresters will take a well-deserved five days off before traveling to two Midwest Conference schools next weekend (October 6-7th). On Saturday they will play at Illinois College at 3:00 pm and on Saturday they will play at Monmouth College at 1:00 pm. The next home game for the team will be the following Saturday (October 13th) against UW-Whitewater at 2:00 pm.
