Foresters Fall at North Central in Season Opener
Nineteen players see action in first game of season

NAPERVILLE, IL - The Forester men's soccer team traveled to North Central College Tuesday (September 3) but lost to the Cardinals 1-0. The game was played at Cardinal stadium, the 2002 site of the Chicago Fire's home games.

Lake Forest managed only five shots in the game to North Central's 11. The only goal came early in the first half off the foot of the Cardinal's Bill Johnson.

Lake Forest head coach Ed Kositzki used 19 different players, including two goalkeepers, in the game. Freshman Eric Booth (Buffalo Grove, IL/Stevenson) held the home team scoreless in the second half in his first action in goal.

After playing 14 games last season decided by a single goal, and winning eight, the Foresters will try to rebound from this one-goal loss on Saturday (September 7) in their Midwest Conference opener at Knox College.
