Foresters Come from Behind to Beat North Central 3-2
Chris Mickschl scores twice, including the game winner

LAKE FOREST, IL - The Lake Forest College men's soccer team got off to a rough start in its first game of the 2001 season, but managed to bounce back and win its opener over North Central College 3-2.

The Foresters trailed by two goals early in the second half before senior forward Chris Mickschl (Glendale, WI) scored the team's first goal of the game and the season with 35 minutes to go. Sophomore midfielder Steve Teisl (Chardon, OH) tied the game roughly five minutes later and Mickschl scored his second goal in the 70th minute to give the Foresters the lead and, eventually, the come-from-behind victory.

Freshmen Brock Thom (Manotick, Canada) and John Karner (Gurnee, IL) each recorded assists, the first points of their collegiate careers.

Lake Forest out-shot North Central 18-13. The Cardinals fell to 1-2-0 on the season.

The Foresters will host Knox College on Saturday (September 8th) at 4:00 pm. It will be the Midwest Conference opener for both teams.
