Lake Forest Falls 4-2 to Beneditine in 2000 Season Opener

LAKE FOREST - Visiting Benedictine University (IL) used four goals in the game's final 21 minutes to defeat host Lake Forest College on Wednesday (September 6th). It was the Forester's season and home opener. 

Lake Forest jumped out to a 2-0 lead after the game's first 45 minutes. Steve Leroux (LaSalle, QC) scored the season's first goal at 26:40. The goal was unassisted. Junior Chad Mickschl (Glendale, WI) tacked on the game's second tally, assisted by Evan Klaus (Belvedere, CA), at 32:24.

Benedictine scored four second half goals, three of which came off the foot of Andy Houston.

The Foresters outshot BU, 20-17, for the game.

The contest was marred by eight yellow cards (six of which from Lake Forest) and 38 fouls (22 from Lake Forest).

Lake Forest fell to 0-1-0, while Benedictine improved to 1-2-0 on the season. Lake Forest will be back in action on Saturday (September 9th).
