Foresters Begin Midwest Conference Play with 1-0 Victory at Knox
Visitors score winning goal with 8:20 to play in the game

GALESBURG, Ill. – The Lake Forest College men's soccer team opened the Midwest Conference portion of its 2008 schedule with a 1-0 victory at Knox College on Saturday (September 6). The Foresters are now 1-3-0 overall while the Prairie Fire fell to 1-1-0.

Lake Forest out-shot the home team 18-15 and had 11 shots on goal to Knox's three.

Forester freshman forward Robbie Weis (Deerfield, Ill./Deerfield) netted the contest's only goal with just 8:20 remaining in regulation. Freshman midfielder Andy Glass (Colorado Springs, Colo./Cheyenne Mountain) assisted on the second goal of the year for Weis.

Senior goalkeeper Sam Malmberg (Concord, N.H./St. Paul's School) recorded one save in the first half and two in the second for his second career shutout.

Lake Forest will host Concordia University Chicago Wednesday (September 10) at 4:30 p.m. and before resuming league play at home on Saturday (September 13) against Ripon College at 3:30 in the afternoon.
