Lake Forest Records Second Straight 2-1 Victory at Home
Foresters knock off Benedictine University

LAKE FOREST, IL - The Forester men’s soccer team raised its record on the year to 2-1 with a 2-1 victory at home Tuesday (September 7) over Benedictine University. The Eagles dropped to 1-3.

Lake Forest’s first goal of the game was the team-high second of the season by freshman Ben Levy (Lincoln, MA/Lincoln-Sudbury). He was assisted by senior John Karner (Gurnee,IL/Warren Township) at the game’s 31:47 mark.

Benedictine tied the score in the 60th minute but Forester Michael Watman (Flossmoor, IL/Mount Carmel) scored his first goal of the season at 77:59 to put the home team ahead. Levy earned an assist on the goal, giving him a team-high five points on the year.

Sophomore goalkeeper Pat Witwicki (Lake Villa, IL/Antioch) needed just a pair of saves to notch the victory and even his record on the season at 1-1. He is now 6-3-1 in his career.

Lake Forest will play a pair of Midwest Conference games this weekend (September 11-12). The team will play at Knox College at 3:00 Saturday afternoon and will host Ripon College at the same time on Sunday. Sunday’s contest is the Foresters’ first game on the synthetic playing surface of the newly renovated Farwell Field.
