Michael J. Stusick '76
Growing up in Southfield, Michigan, Mike attended Benedict High School.  He participated in baseball, basketball, and hockey, and was a member of the National Honor Society.

Entering Lake Forest in 1972, he earned four letters in hockey.  In his freshman season, he set a school record by being the first Forester hockey player to score over 30 goals in one season.  The leading scorer the next three years, Mike was a three-time first team All-America.  He finished his career with over 100 goals, breaking the LFC career scoring record.  His junior and senior year, he received the Andrew Sweet Award which was given to the Most Valuable Player chosen by the coach.  Mike was also a finalist for the NCAA Student-Athlete of the Year in 1976.  He set the record for the most total points and assists, combining for 139 points.  His outstanding play earned him a tryout with the Phoenix Roadrunners and the Buffalo Sabres.  Along with being a resident assistant, he was as member of the honorary biology society Beta Beta Beta and was on the Dean's List.

Graduating with a degree in biology, he decided against playing in the NHL and went to the University of Michigan School of Dentistry and received his D.D.S. degree.  He did graduate work toward a Master's degree in Public Health at the University of Michigan School of Public Health.  A member of the American Dental Society and the American Society of Dental Sports Medicine, he has served on the Board of Directors of Lakeland Valley Dental Society, as president of his dental society, and as chairman for Western Michigan Dental Handicapped.  His local paper awarded him the reader's Choice Award for favorite dentist.  A captain in the Michigan National Guard, Mike continues to play hockey with professional players and is an avid golfer.
