LAKE FOREST, IL - The Lake Forest College men's tennis team swept the Milwaukee School of Engineering Thursday (April 15) at home. The 7-0 victory raised the team's record to 8-10 on the season.

In doubles action, the Foresters' number one team of sophomore Nick Sandner (Lake Bluff, IL/Lake Forest) and freshman Alex Godin (Northbrook, IL/Glenbrook North) won 8-5. The home team also got an 8-4 victory at number two from freshman Michael Jolly (Jacksonville, IL/Jacksonville) and sophomore Rob Burda (Meridian, ID/Meridian) as well as an 8-1 rout from senior Luke Figora (Yorkville, IL/Yorkville) and sophomore Sebastian Bienia (Lemont, IL/Lemont) at number three.

Jolly and Godin both won their fourth consecutive singles match. Jolly claimed a 6-1, 6-1 triumph at number two and Godin prevailed 6-4, 6-4 at number five. Burda defeated his opponent 6-4, 6-3 at number three and Figora's 6-4, 6-4 win at number four matched Godin for the smallest margin of victory on the day. Bienia's 6-2, 6-1 win at number six and Sandner's 10-1 victory at number one as darkness fell were not nearly as close.

The Foresters will host Monmouth College on Saturday (April 17) at 8:30 a.m. A victory over the Scots and a Knox College loss at first-place (Midwest Conference South Division) Grinnell College later in the day would put Lake Forest in the four-team MWC Team Championship Tournament for the first time in four years.

The Foresters will also travel to Aurora University for a 3:00 match Saturday afternoon.
