Teams
KENOSHA, WI - The Forester men's tennis team took on two of the top team in the Central Region Saturday (April 20th) at Carthage College. After falling 7-0 to the host in the morning Lake Forest was beaten by the same score by UW-Oshkosh in the afternoon. Sophomore Spencer Peoples (Scottsdale, AZ/New Mexico Military Institute), the Foresters' number one player, almost pulled off the upset in the match against Carthage. After dropping the first set, 6-4, Peoples took the second, 7-6 (7-5). A super tiebreaker was used to settle the match and Nate Deist of Carthage came out on top, 12-8. Forester head coach Chad Eisele hopes the difficult competition will help prepare the team for its most important matches of the season, which occur next Saturday (April 27th) at the Midwest Conference South Division Quadrangular. Lake Forest, Grinnell College, Illinois College, and host Knox College will each play the other three, all on that day. The top two teams will advance to the MWC Team Championships on Friday, May 3rd. Before that, however, the Foresters will travel to Carroll College on Tuesday (April 23rd) for a 3:30 PM match. Although both teams are members of the Midwest Conference, the results will not count in the league standings, since Carroll is in the North Division and Lake Forest is in the South. Lake
