Foresters Collect 7-0 Victory at Carroll College
Lake Forest sweeps singles matches without #2 player

Spencer Peoples came out on top in a three-set match at number one singles.
WAUKESHA, WI - Although it did not count in the Midwest Conference standings, the Lake Forest College men's tennis team's 7-0 victory at Carroll College on Tuesday (April 23rd) should help the team's confidence level going into the most important weekend so far this season.

For the fourth time this year, number one singles player Spencer Peoples (Scottsdale, AZ/New Mexico Military Institute) and his opponent split the first two sets. While those opponents won each of the first three times, the sophomore would not be denied on Tuesday, taking the match, 4-6, 6-4, 6-3.

While senior Konrad Bienia (Lemont, IL/St. Lawrence Catholic), sophomores Gabe Beauchamp (Brossard, Quebec/Mt. Hermon School) and Luke Figora (Yorkville, IL/Yorkville), and junior Andrew Schuman (San Francisco, CA/Lawrence Academy) usually play the number three through six singles positions, they each moved up one spot in the lineup on Tuesday with the absence of the Foresters regular number two player. All four responded with straight set victories, as did sophomore Andrew Reid (Natick, MA/Rivers School), who was inserted at number six.

Figora and Schuman share the team lead with four individual singles victories each.

Lake Forest also won the doubles point by collecting victories at numbers one (Peoples & Beauchamp) and two (Bienia & Figora).

The next match on Lake Forest's schedule is at Augustana College on Friday (April 26th) afternoon. On Saturday, all four teams in the Midwest Conference's South Division will play each other with the top two advancing to the MWC Team Championship Tournament on May 3rd.
