LAKE FOREST, Ill. - The Lake Forest College men’s tennis team shut out Rockford College 9-0 Tuesday (April 24) in the final dual match of the season for both teams. The Foresters tied the school record with their 17th victory of the season (against seven losses) and the Regents fell to 0-10.

Tierney and sophomores Will Hiemenz (St. Louis, Mo./Chaminade) and Andrew Fretter (Bloomfield, Mich./Cranbrook Kingswood) blanked their opponents 6-0, 6-0 at numbers one, two, and three singles, respectively. Sophomore Ricky Galvez (Poolville, N.Y./Hamilton Central) won 6-1, 6-0 at number four and senior Ben Larsen (Oconomowoc, Wis./Oconomowoc) prevailed 6-0, 6-1 at five.

Lake Forest players will compete at the Midwest Conference Tournament this weekend (April 28-29). Competition at each of the six singles positions will be held on Saturday and the three doubles tournaments will occur on Sunday.
