John Adams Named Forester Athlete of the Week
Freshmen extended singles winning streak to nine matches

LAKE FOREST, Ill. - Lake Forest College men’s tennis player John Adams (Colorado Springs, Colo./Cheyenne Mountain) was named Forester Athlete of the Week on Thursday (April 8) for his performance in a pair of conference matches the previous Saturday (April 3).

Adams, a freshman, was 3-1 on the day in singles and doubles matches combined. Lake Forest began by falling 8-1 to Grinnell College. Adams’ 6-4, 6-4 at #3 singles accounted for the home team’s only point and his 9-7 loss at #3 doubles was the contest’s closest match. The Foresters later blanked Illinois College 9-0 with Adams winning 8-2 in doubles and 6-2, 6-1 in singles.

Adams now owns a team-best 13-1 record and nine-match winning streak in singles play this season. He is also 10-3 in doubles play.

Forester Athletes of the Week are selected by the Athletic Department on Thursdays.
