FORESTERS PREPARE FOR BIG WEEKEND BY DOMINATING AT HARPER
The Lake Forest men's tennis team tuned up for what Head Coach Chad Eisele calls, "the biggest weekend of the season to date" by winning 25 of their 27 matches at the Harper College tournament.  The Foresters picked up tournament singles' titles from Shane Bell (No. 2), Jacob Wert (No. 3), Courtney Barr (No. 4), Guerin Williams (No. 5), and Konrad Beinia (No. 6) and doubles' titles from Kelly/Williams (No. 2) and Bell/Ray Ro (No. 3).  The tournament consisted of seven other schools and each winner won three matches to claim their championship.
The impressive showing at Harper comes off the heels of an equally impressive 6-1 win over Millikin University, in which the Foresters won every singles' match.  Lake Forest will bring their 6-3 dual match record into a weekend where they will face three conference opponents - St. Norbert and Lawrence at Lawrence on Saturday and divisional rival Grinnell at home on Sunday.  Both Saturday and Sunday's matches begin at noon.  "This weekend will give us the opportunity to win our division with a win over Grinnell," Eisele added.  "And winning our division will give us the best opportunity to win at the conference tournament."
Both Grinnell and Lake Forest are vying for the South division's top seed, which will match up with the North's second seed at the conference tourney.  Grinnell (13-3 overall) and the Foresters are both 2-0 versus the other MWC South teams (Knox and Illinois College) this year.  LF defeated Knox 5-2 while Grinnell won 4-3 and each team shutout Illinois College.
