LAKE FOREST CLIMBS TO 11TH IN LATEST REGIONAL RANKINGS

The Lake Forest College men's tennis team moved from 13th to 11th in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association Midwest Region ranking.

The Foresters are the highest ranking Midwest Conference school in the poll. Fellow MWC team Ripon is ranked 12th while Grinnell checks in at #14. Lake Forest will travel to Grinnell for a battle of ranked teams on Saturday (April 15th).

Other ranked teams left on the Foresters schedule include # 20 Carthage and # 16 UW-Oshkosh, both on Saturday, April 22nd. On April 25th, the Foresters will travel to Wheaton, the 15th rated team in the region.

Thus far in 2000, Lake Forest is 2-1 versus ranked teams. The Foresters claimed 4-3 wins over #18 UW-LaCrosse on February 26th and #13 Illinois Wesleyan on April 2nd. Also on February 26th, #9 Coe defeated Lake Forest 6-1.

Overall, the Foresters are 10-4 on the season, including a perfect 5-0 in the MWC. Lake Forest won last season's MWC team title.

Individually, Lake Forest senior Dave Kelly is ranked 11th in singles play, just ahead of the next highest MWC team member, Ripon's Charlie Larson.

Kelly is the two-time defending MWC champion at No. 1 singles.
