FORESTERS RUN WINNING STREAK TO SIX MATCHES

The Lake Forest men's tennis team rolled through four opponents in two days over the weekend to extend their team winning streak to six matches.

The Foresters blanked Midwest Conference foes Carroll (7-0) and Beloit (6-0) on Saturday (April 1), before handling Illinois Wesleyan (4-3) and Illinois College (6-0) on Sunday. Illinois Wesleyan came into the match as the 8th ranked team in the Midwest Region, while the Foresters are currently ranked 13th. Four of the six singles matches went the full three sets versus Illinois Weleyan. Lake Forest won three of those matches.

"We played some solid tennis and looked especially strong in singles play," Head Coach Chad Eisele commented. "We also got the opportunity to see how we stacked up with one of the top teams in the region (Illinois Wesleyan), and feel good about where we stand. We got some tremendous individual efforts this weekend and hopefully we're starting to hit our stride as a team."

For the weekend, the Foresters were 24-2 in singles action, including perfect weekends by seniors Shane Bell at No. 2, Ray Ro at No. 4, Guerin Williams at No. 5, and Reagen Kirkland at No. 6. The Forester's top six players are all seniors.

The four wins over the weekend upped the Foresters overall record to 8-4 on the season. Three of the team's four losses have been to either NCAA Division I or II teams. Included in their losses is a setback to University of Hawaii, a Division I school, and two losses to BYU-Hawaii, the 21st ranked team in Division II.

Lake Forest is off to a perfect start to the Midwest Conference season with a 4-0 record. The Foresters will defend their conference title on Friday, May 5th at the MWC Team Championships.
