COURTNEY BARR NAMED FORESTER ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Lake Forest men's tennis player Courtney Barr (Peoria, IL/Peoria Richwoods High School) has been named the Forester Athlete of the Week.

Barr, a senior, won all three singles matches in straight sets. He also won two of the three doubles matches he played last week. 

Last Saturday (April 22nd), Barr defeated UW-Oshkosh's Matt Ferry, 6-2, 6-4, and Carthage's Nate Quist, 6-2, 6-2. On Tuesday (April 25th), he knocked off Mark Vaughan of Wheaton, 6-3, 6-3. 

In doubles action with Guerin Williams, the Lake Forest pair defeated Nick Mueller and Ferry (UW-Oshkosh), 8-3, on Saturday and Brian Wu and Tim Knuffin (Wheaton), 8-2, on Tuesday. Also during the week, the duo lost to Carthage's Quist and Adam Brushaber, 5-8. 

As a team, the Foresters won all three matches last week to up their winning streak to 14 matches. Lake Forest is currently ranked 11th in the Midwest Region.
