Lake Forest Knocks Off Illinois College at MWC South Quadrangular
Foresters finish regular season with 4-14 record and in third place in the MWC South

GALESBURG, IL - Lake Forest College won one of their three matches at the Midwest Conference South Division Quadrangular on Saturday (April 28th). The event was hosted by Knox College. 

The Foresters (4-14) fell to Knox, 4-3, in their opening match and then to Grinnell College, 6-0, in their second match before rebounding with a convincing 7-0 win over Illinois College.

Spencer Peoples (Scottsdale, AZ/New Mexico Military Institute) at No. 2, Andrew Schuman (San Francisco, CA/Lawrence Academy) at No. 5, and Beau Llewellyn (Oro Station, Ontario/Eastview Secondary School) at No. 6 recorded singles wins in the Knox match. Evan Hall (Novich, VT/Loomis Chaffee School) and Schuman, at No. 3, recorded the team's only doubles win.

After a 6-0 loss to Grinnell (the doubles point were not played), Lake Forest used four straight set wins and two default wins to sweep the singles matches. Konrad Bienia (Lemont, IL/St. Lawrence Cathloic) at No. 1, Peoples at No. 2, Hall at No. 3, and Llewellyn at No. 4 each won matches. Hall and Schuman also won a match at No. 2 doubles. 

The 1-2 record at the Quadrangular earned Lake Forest a third place South Division finish. The top two teams (Grinnell and Knox) will advance to the MWC Team Championship on Friday. 

Lake Forest will compete in the MWC Singles and Doubles Championship Tournaments on Saturday and Sunday (May 5th-6th) in Madison, Wisconsin.
