REAGAN KIRKLAND NAMED FORESTER ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Lake Forest men's tennis player Reagan Kirkland has been selected as the Forester Athlete of the Week.

Kirkland, a senior from Fayetteville, AR (Fayetteville High School), helped Lake Forest to four wins in four matches over the weekend, including three wins versus Midwest Conference foes. As a team, the Foresters defeated Carroll College (7-0) and Beloit College (6-0) on Saturday (April 1st), before knocking off Illinois Wesleyan University (4-3) and Illinois College (6-0) on Sunday (April 2nd).

Kirkland did not drop a set all week in singles play. Versus Carroll, Kirkland won 6-0, 6-0. He repeated his perfect performance against Beloit and downed Illinois Wesleyan 6-3, 6-4 and Illinois College 8-0. He played all his singles matches from the No. 6 position with the exception of the IC match, in which he played from the No. 4 slot.

In doubles action, Kirkland paired with fellow senior Ray Ro to win one of two matches they played. The duo defeated their Carroll opponents, 8-1, and were defeated by Illinois Wesleyan, 8-9 (7-9). Both matches were played at No. 3.

The Lake Forest College Athletic Department selects the Forester Athlete of the Week each Thursday.
