2004 Season at Ripon College The Foresters’ two points in the dual match came at numbers five and six singles where sophomore Sebastian Bienia (Lemont, IL/Lemont) and freshman Alex Godin (Northbrook, IL/Glenbrook), respectively, claimed victories. Bienia won 6-4, 6-2 over Darren Thies and Godin triumphed 6-3, 6-1 over Trevor Bellrichard. On Saturday, Lake Forest, Ripon, Concordia University (WI), and UW-LaCrosse each fielded four doubles teams in the event. The first and second teams from each school were grouped in one tbracket and numbers three and four in another. Lake Forest’s number one team of sophomore Nick Sandner (Lake Bluff, IL/Lake Forest) and freshman Michael Jolly (Jacksonville, IL/Jacksonville) defeated Concordia’s number two team in the first round before falling to the number one team from Ripon in round two. After dropping their first round match to LaCrosse’s number four team, Godin and junior Alex Pukshansky (Buffalo Grove, IL/Stevenson), Lake Forest’s number three team, knocked off Ripon’s number three and four teams to win the consolation bracket. The Foresters’ next competition will occur in Hilton Head, South
Carolina during Spring Break. The team’s first match on the trip
will be against Baldwin-Wallace College at 2:00 p.m. (EST) on Sunday,
March 7. Lake Forest will also take on Penn State-Behrend College, Mount
Union College, and Eastern Nazarene College in Hilton Head.
