Foresters Are 5-0 after Victory over Beloit
Team not scheduled to play again for a month

ROCKFORD, Ill. - The Lake Forest College men's tennis team defeated Beloit College 8-1 on Saturday (February 28) at Boylan High School in Rockford, Illinois. The Foresters remained perfect in five 2009 matches while the Buccaneers were playing for the first time this season.

Beloit's only victory of the contest came at #1 doubles. Lake Forest sophomore Jon Flaksman (Northbrook, Ill./Glenbrook North) and senior Andrew Fretter (Bloomfield, Mich./Cranbrook Kingswood) won 8-1 at #2, as did junior Joe Campagna (Elmwood Park, Ill./Fenwick) and sophomore Chris Paterakos (Wilmette, Ill./New Trier) at #3.

The Foresters swept the six singles matches, including 6-0, 6-0 triumphs by Paterakos at #5 and freshman Nick Cantor (Providence, R.I./Wheeler School) at #6. Junior Alex Presman (Deerfield, Ill/Deerfield) and Fretter won 6-1, 6-1 at #1 and #3, respectively. Flaksman and Campagna raised their single records on the season to 5-0 with a 6-2, 6-1 victory at #2 and a 6-2, 6-0 win at #4, respectively.

Lake Forest will not play again for a month. The team will begin Midwest Conference South Division play on Saturday, March 28, at Illinois College where the Foresters will take on Grinnell College at 9:00 a.m. and Illinois College at noon.
