HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC - The Forester men's tennis team traveled to South Carolina during Spring Break (March 7-11) and posted a 3-3 record on the trip. Lake Forest played six matches in five days, beginning with a 6-1 loss to Baldwin-Wallace College on Sunday. The team recorded a 6-1 victory over Heidelberg College on Monday and a 5-2 triumph over Penn State Behrend College on Tuesday. Mount Union College (4-3) and Green Mountain College (5-2) each defeated the Foresters on Wednesday but the team rebounded with a 7-0 win over Eastern Nazarene College on Thursday to close out the trip.

Freshman Alex Godin (Northbrook, IL/Glenbrook) claimed the Foresters' only victory against Baldwin-Wallace. He won 7-5, 4-6, 1-0 (10-5) at number six singles.

Senior Luke Figora (Yorkville, IL/Yorkville), sophomores Rob Burda (Meridian, ID/Meridian) and Sebastian Bienia (Lemont, IL/Lemont), and freshman Michael Jolly (Jacksonville, IL/Jacksonville) each prevailed in both singles and doubles against Heidelberg. Godin also won his singles match.

Jolly (#2), Figora (#4), Godin (#5), and Bienia (#6) won again in singles against Penn State Behrend. Jolly teamed with Burda for a victory at number two doubles and Figora and Bienia won at number three.

Jolly, Godin, and Bienia triumphed again at the same positions as the day before against Mount Union and Jolly teamed with Burda for another victory at number two doubles.

Godin extended his singles winning streak with an 8-0 win at number five singles against Green Mountain, who did not field a player at number six singles or a doubles team at number three.

The Foresters, led by Nick Sandner (Lake Bluff, IL/Lake Forest) at number one, won all six singles matches against Eastern Nazarene. Sandner's battle was the closest of the match-ups as he triumphed 6-2, 2-6, 1-0 (10-5). Victories at numbers two and three garnered the doubles point to complete the 7-0 sweep.

Godin was perfect on the week with a 4-0 record at number five singles and a 2-0 mark at number six. Bienia (3-0) and Jolly (4-2) also posted winning records in singles play. Burda and Jolly were 3-2 in doubles.
