Alex Godin Named Forester Athlete of the Week
Freshman is 5-0 in singles so far during spring break trip

Alex Godin is now 6-0 on the year in singles.
LAKE FOREST, IL - Lake Forest College tennis player Alex Godin (Northbrook, IL/Glenbrook North) was named Forester Athlete of the Week Thursday after he went undefeated in the first five matches of the team's spring break trip to Hilton Head Island, SC. He posted two wins at number six singles before garnering three more at number five.

Godin's two matches at number six singles were from opposite ends of the spectrum. The first was his closest match of the trip, a 7-5, 4-6, 1-0 (10-5) triumph over Derek Sloan of Baldwin-Wallace College. The second was a 6-0, 6-0 thrashing of Heidelberg College's Josh Kuelling. The Foresters split those two matches.

All of Godin's victories at number five singles were in straight sets and none of his opponents took more than three games in a set. A 6-2, 6-2 win over Kevin Fiorenzo helped Lake Forest to a 5-2 triumph over Penn State Behrend College, but his 6-3, 6-1 and 8-0 victories weren't enough as the Foresters fell to Mount Union College and Green Mountain College, respectively.

The Forester Athlete of the Week is chosen by the Athletic Department on Thursdays.
