Lake Forest Finishes Trip with Loss at Nation’s Fifth-Ranked Team
Team is 8-2 after falling at Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges

CLAREMONT, Calif. - The Forester men’s tennis team was defeated 9-0 at Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges, the fifth-ranked team in the country, on Friday (March 14). Lake Forest is now 8-2 on the season while the Stags raised their record to 10-3.

Forester sophomore Joe Campagna (Elmwood Park, Ill./Fenwick) and freshman Chris Paterakos (Wilmette, Ill./New Trier) came the closest to victory, falling 8-5 at #3 doubles.

A 6-2, 6-1 defeat at #3 singles was the first collegiate singles loss for freshman Jon Flaksman (Northbrook, Ill./Glenbrook North), who had rattled off nine consecutive victories to begin his career.

Lake Forest’s next two matches will be played on Saturday, March 29, at Grinnell College. The Foresters will take on the hosts at 9:00 a.m. and Illinois College at 12:00 p.m. Both matches will count in the Midwest Conference South Division standings.
